Named after Otis Irelan (1879-1956), who founded the university in 1906
Students at Irelan are required to live in dorms until their senior year, but most
don't mind, as all dorm rooms on campus are actually air-conditioned suites!
The campus was designed by architect Gui Renoir to resemble the many
fifteenth and sixteenth century German Gothic and German Renaissance
buildings in the French city of Colmar, Alsace.
